Best Thing in Life!
There are so many good things in life, sipping a cup of latte on the beach under the clear blue sky, taking a slow stroll through a park in the fall admiring the different colours of fall leaves, hike up a mountain for the breaktaking view from the peak of a mountain.
Well, thanks to Andrew, Ran, Thomas and Taki, I have just tasted a new best thing in life. They gave me a gift certificate for a “Rain Tree Renewal” Spa Package in Rain Tree Spa. As soon as I arrived, the lady served me a cup of organic black tea. The whole atmosphere is so welcoming and relaxing. The treatment consist of sea salt scrub with lemon grass massage oil, then they massage me with a nourishing body milk moisturizing treatment. At the same time, I was completely relax under the “Rain Fall” shower. It’s like I was in a warm shower, only there are 6 body sprayers, so, I was completely relax while I was laying down being massaged from my neck down to my baby toes. It was soooooooo relaxing and invigorating. My skin was silky smooth everywhere afterwards; so smooth that I can’t stop touching myself, my arms, my legs, and tummy. This is the first spa treatment I’ve ever had in my life and it definitely falls in the “Best Thing in Life” category. Thank you so much, guys!
As good as the spa treatment is, it is still a pretty luxurious for weekly activities. However, there are a few things you could do at home until the next indulgence.
The main ingredient for the DIY home spa treatment is ----- FOOD!
Food can be the best friend for beauty. You’ll have more radiant, firmer skin while saving a ton of money. That’s because you are using the core ingredients in some of the priciest, most effective skin-care products around. The difference is that you are using the product in its original form without the pretty package and the chemicals that need to be infused to give the product a shelf life.
AVOCADOS
Mash a ripe avocado and gently massage on your ace, especially under eye puffiness and dark circles. While sitting, place a cold damp washcloth over closed eyes for about 15 minutes. Rinse off by pressing off with the cloth. The oil in the avocado do is a rich moisturizer, while the cold cloth helps de-puff.
Mash a half-ripe avocado with a teaspoon of olive oil. Massage into cuticles. Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse afterward.
BANANA
Mash a banana with one egg yolk plus a teaspoon of almond extract. Apply to face and leave on until dry. Remove with cool chamomile tea to moisturize and refresh.
CONMEAL
Cornmeal has been used for generations as a cleanser and skin aid. Add water or milk to make a paste to clean and absorb grime for the skin.
EGGS
Gently take an egg white out of the shell and pat in on areas of the face that are most wrinkled. Without moving a muscle, allow to dry on face. This acts as a temporary face lift. Beat an egg until frothy. Apply to a clean, dry face and let dry for 15 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly.
MILK
Use milk powder and water as a paste to gently cleanse the face. The proteins in the milk make skin silky smooth. The milk’s lactic acids take away dirt, debris and the leathery layers of the skin.
LEMONS
Slice a lemon in half and apply the juice to age spots.
HONEY
Cleanser – Mix a Tbsp of honey with a Tbsp of finely ground almonds and ½ tsp of lemon juice. Rub gently on face to cleanse.
Toner – Combine a Tbsp of honey with a tsp of apple juice. Smooth over face and leave on for 15 miuntes Rinse with cool water.
Firming Mask - Mix a Tbsp of honey with an egg white. Spread over face and throat, and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.
WHEAT GERM
Because it has soothing and healing properties, wheat germ makes a gentle scrub for sensitive or dry skin. Mix it with a bit of honey if you have a very dry skin. Mix it with water if your skin is normal. Wheat germ is high in protein and vitamins E and B.
CARROTS
Carrots can make a very good antioxidant mask. Cook a large carrot and mash thoroughly. Add a little milk to make it easy to spread. Apply to face and let set for 10 minutes. Rinse.
WATER
It’s free, and it’s skin hydration at its finest. The first thing you should do is to drink a glass of water when first awakening. Next, splash your skin with tepid, never hot, water. Hot water robs the skin of the natural oils that have built up overnight.
BAKING SODA
Add enough water to baking soda to make a paste, and use it at night on blemishes to dry them up while you sleep.
Complexion Facial
This 2-step process has 2 wonderful ingredients. The banana is full of vitamin B to nourish your skin, while the egg white will absorb oil.
STEP 1 – Mix together 1 tsp of honey with 1 egg white, and apply to face. Allow
to dry and rinse.
STEP 2 – Mash 1 banana with a Tbsp of avocado. Leave on for 10 minutes and
rinse.
ESSENTIAL OIL
Here are some essential oils that spas use and you should collect.
LAVENDER – it helps with burns, healing wounds and calming the mind and
body. Use it on your pillow, or dab it around the room when you want to relax.
TEA TREE OIL – it helps cold sores, oily skin, athlete’s foot, and blemishes.
Use it straight form the bottle.
GERANIUM – Helps fade broken capillaries. Use it at night to heal bruises.
GRAPEFRUIT – Tones skin and tissues and helps with bloating. You will love it
as a bath oil. Use about ten drops under running water.
PEPPERMINT – Soothes digestion and is cool and refreshing. Apply it in the air
or on the skin
QUICK TRICKS
- Spread an egg white all over clean skin and let dry. Rinse thoroughly.
- Spread plain yogurt over the face to even out skin tone.
- Remove skin debris with pumpkin filling and nutmeg. Get a can of pumpkin and keep it in the refrigerator. Take a scoop and mix it with about 1 tsp of nutmeg. Follow up with a sugar and honey exfoliant.
- Apply cranberry juice as a cleanser. It’s slightly acidic and has antibacterial properties, so it tones while cleansing at the same time.
- Mash half a ripe peach, and rub it into your face in a circular motion to bring out the glow.
- Mash a ripe banana and rub it into clean, dry skin. Leave it on for 5 minutes. Then rinse well. This mask will leave your skin baby soft, plus the potassium in the bananas will help erase any under eye circles.
Enjoy!

Life is full of colour, that's one thing I learn. Whether it is bright colour or dark colour, they are still colourful.
In regards to the spa ingredients, I can't really tell you which one is best, because they are all great. But, from the perspective of easy to use, probably Honey and Egg White, as well as Banana and honey for deep moisturizing results.
